How to Dress Geek Chic
You can be a total geek and still look good. This style is call Geek chic. It used to be a bad thing to look like a geek, you were picked on if you looked like a nerd and nobody wanted to be one. But teens have made geek chic become a phenomenon. In order to dress geek chic, you need to get in touch with your real nerdy side.
Think about movies that you have seen that have true nerdy kids in them and study their looks, but instead of copying their complete style, add some confidence.
First, think about what every geek out there wears on their face. Glasses! Whether you need eyeglasses of not, you should get some glasses. They make glasses that are made specifically just for looks, they are usually lensless glasses, so you don’t have to worry about ruining your eye sight. Many designers have created fabulous glasses so you can pull off geek chic better. Since designers have made these glasses, everyone is choosing them over boring dull glasses that have been worn for years. So buy a pair of geek chic glasses and you are on your way to your complete geek chic look.
If you want to pull off the geek chic fashion, you need to know how you’re going to need to dress.
1. If you are a fan of skinny jeans, that’s not a problem. Wear your skinny jeans and then add a shirt that has a clever message about computers or something that has nerdy interests to it such as science fiction, television shows, video games, ect. Plain t-shirts will do just fine also. Add a some sort of tie to around your neck to give your look more of a feek feeling.
2. Putting a long sleeved t-shirt underneath a short sleeved t-shirt is a good geek look.
3. If you choose to wear skirts, don’t have it be too short. When you wear a skirt, also wear some knee high socks with them. Mix and match the socks to look more nerdy. A tie around your neck with a skirt and knee high socks is a great geek chic look.
4. Suspenders is a signature look for the geek chic fashion. This is a great nerdy accessory that will complete the look you are aiming for.
5. Acessories are very important when it comes to dressing geek chic. Leggings are a good accessory to wear when wearing skirts or shorts. You can choose to make your accessories at home or you can buy them. You can also fix up your old jewlery to give them a more geek chic style to them. Use your imagination and accessorize to make your geek chic style stand out even more.
6. Sneakers are the best choice for your geek chic look. Converse shoes are probably your best choice. When you are wearing knee highs or leggings, boots and heels will work best. Don’t wear your heals very high or it won’t look too geek chic.
7. Ladies, when you are dressing in geek chic fashion, you can still wear make up. You don’t have to and you can go with an all natural look. But if you do choose to wear makeup, dont’ wear too much. Eyeliner and a little blush will look great with your geek chic glasses.
Remember that to make this look work, you have to be confident and bold. Otherwise, people will just think you’re a geek.
