Part I — In Search of Love in the Philippines, Beware of Filipino Women who Pose as Legitimate Pen Pals but are Professional Con Artists instead
PART I
This article is geared towards some Westerners and other foreign nationals who are single and still searching for love in the Philippines and some single retirees who have not yet taken the plunge, but would like to meet and marry the women of their dreams in the Philippines. A great number of Filipino women dedicate themselves into luring unsuspecting and unaware Western men and other foreign nationals to their money-hungry life style traps.
You are Forewarned
Some of these women are lesbians who have no intention or desire to marry any men, yet you will find them in droves in the internet cafés where they use chat rooms to ask their online male pen pals for money. These Filipino con artists grab money from their ill-informed male pen pals in this manner.
They also use another trick: Upon three to seven days from meeting a foreign national in the Philippines, they would lead their pen pals to the ‘malls’ and walk them to the most jewelry stores. Some of these Filipino thieves tricked their male pen pals into buying them some expensive pieces of jewelry.
This is something that has happened and continues to happen to many uninformed foreign nationals in the Philippines. That said, forewarned is forearmed with the expectation that you will know what to look for if you happen to chat with online pen pals.
Bilking Money Online
The advent of online dating has created a new breed of Internet con artists nearly everywhere on this planet. These con artists can be high school students, college students, workers, unemployed males or females. There are also males who pose like females and females who pose like males, depending with whom they chat online. Yet, you will find others who just get a kick out of bilking money out of gullible males.
You should remind yourself that getting money by deceptive practices online has become a source of income for millions of girls and women in many parts of the world. Some con artists consider bilking money out of men as a job from which to pay for their next vacation, put a better roof over their head, feed their families, and pay their kids’ college tuition, and among others, entertain their boyfriends or girlfriends, whatever the case may be.
