Ambica Steels Limited (better known as AMBICA) was founded in 1970 as a small foundry meeting the demands of customers throughout Northern India. The company was re-established in 1990 and a new era in the company history began. Over all these years the former foundry was changed into the 2nd largest Stainless Steel Long producer in India, specializing in the manufacturing of stainless steel long products.
AMBICA, a family business for 3 generations, possesses a rich experience of over 40 years in steel making. Ambica exports its stainless materials to over 50 countries across the globe, in more than 100 steel grades.
Being a fully integrated plant, Ambica is well equipped with all stainless steel manufacturing facilities – starting from the Steel Melt Shop, Refining thru AOD, Billet Casting, Hot Rolling Mills and Cold Finishing of Bars, Angles & Flats. With a melt size of 22 Tons, these facilities facilitate production of about 80,000 tons per year.
AMBICA is a lean organisation, geared strictly to meet customer requirements and the market situations, and is equipped to face new challenges. Thanks to extensive metallurgical know-how and progressive rolling and cold finishing technology, AMBICA is a competent partner for various semi-finished and cold-finished steel products, and a specialist for complex stainless steel grades.
AMBICA offers a wide variety of Stainless Steel Long products. The product range starts from Forging Ingots & Concast Billets to Bright Bars, Squares, Hexagons, Angles and Flat Bars in most Austenitic, Ferritic & Martensitic Steels along with Duplex and Precipitation Hardening Steels.
The Bright Round Bars & Hexagons are a perfect solution for all machining applications. These bars are characterized by high dimensional accuracy and high-quality bright surfaces.
Ambica produces over 100 grades in Stainless Steels, a few to mention are AISI 303, 304L, 316L, 316Ti, 410, 416, 420, 430F, 431, 17-4PH, F-51 Duplex etc.
AMBICA also specializes into the production of 17-4PH (also known as 1.4542 and AISI 630) grade materials. This is a precipitation hardening martensitic stainless steel with Cu and Nb/Cb additions. The grade combines a very high strength, hardness (up to 572°F / 300°C), and corrosion resistance.
These materials are primarily used in the Aircraft and Aerospace engineering, Mechanical engineering, Power generation, Measuring and Control techniques, Offshore (foils, helicopter deck, platforms, etc.), Nuclear waste casks etc.
